Alexis at Domaine Forget

25,00$
An epic choreographic journey unfolds around the famous Trotteur, that man — that legend! — who ran faster than horses, ships, and trains. Follow the 5 performers in a dynamic — and at times equine! — dance, inspired by the personality, vigor, and madness of Alexis Lapointe (1860 – 1924), known as "the horse-man." Marginalized and denigrated by loved ones who couldn’t accept his eccentricity, this figure from Quebec folklore with extraordinary physical abilities became, in the society of his time, a beloved sideshow attraction for his feats, applauded by all with a mix of curiosity and admiration. How would ALEXIS, this eternal adolescent who dared to magnify his difference, be received today? A hundred years after Trotteur's death, Ample Man Danse pays homage to him through a choreographic process blending contemporary dance and interactive stagecraft, exploring the mechanisms of creating legends. The central theme is the character's desire for emancipation and his need to exist in the eyes of others.
