The Two at Place de l'Église

The blues, a quintessential vehicle for torn journeys, brought together the unlikely pairing of Swiss musician Thierry Jaccard and Mauritian Yannick Nanette. With their new album "Sadela," The TWO delve into the Creole imaginary of the Indian Ocean. "Sadela," which means "the two" in Mauritian Creole, traces a musical journey exploring island blues such as Sega and Maloya. Through this creation, the two musicians narrate their hybrid, mestizo identities in perpetual evolution, echoing the concept of a "creolization" of the world as envisioned by the poet Edouard Glissant.
